Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez

University of Chile

Independent, autonomous, and responsible thinking

Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez is a private Chilean institution with campuses in Santiago and Viña del Mar. Its educational project rests on individual freedom and responsibility as the path to developing students’ intellectual and human potential.

Its origins date back to 1953, with the creation of the Valparaíso Business School, the oldest of its kind in Chile. The university itself was established in 1988.

A liberal arts educational model

UAI follows a Core Curriculum model, developed through a collaboration agreement with Columbia University signed in 2017, which provides a shared grounding in the sciences and the humanities across all bachelor’s programmes within a liberal arts approach.

Its offering spans undergraduate degrees, master’s degrees, eight doctoral programmes, diplomas and short courses, delivered on campus, in blended format and fully online through UAI Online. It also runs tailor-made programmes for companies and organisations.

Areas
of knowledge

The institution organises its activity into eight faculties and schools: the Faculty of Liberal Arts, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences, together with the schools of Business, Government, Psychology and Communications and Journalism, and DesignLab, its school of design and architecture.

Its fields of study range from management and government to engineering, law, psychology, journalism, design and the humanities.
