Universidad Estatal de Milagro (UNEMI) is a public higher education institution committed to the comprehensive training of professionals, the generation of scientific knowledge and effective links with society, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.


24 years of university life

Universidad Estatal de Milagro has its origins in Universidad Estatal de Guayaquil. It was created in a session of the University Council on 14 June 1969 as a University Cultural Extension through the Faculty of Philosophy, Literature and Education Sciences. On 4 July 1969, the Milagro University Extension was officially inaugurated in a solemn session attended by Dr. Nicolás Castro Benítez, rector of the Universidad Estatal de Guayaquil.

Over the course of these 24 years of autonomous university life, the Universidad Estatal de Milagro has established itself as the main reference point for higher education in the city and the region, standing out for its high academic performance, solid institutional management and ongoing commitment to quality.

Through a relevant academic offering, the promotion of research, links with society and its national and international projection, UNEMI contributes significantly to the educational, social and productive transformation of the country, training ethical professionals committed to sustainable development.
