Teacher training
The Universidad Nacional de Educación, UNAE, is a public university located in the parish of Javier Loyola (Chuquipata), in the canton of Azogues, province of Cañar. The university was conceived with the aim of training teachers who will transform the National Education System of Ecuador.
UNAE seeks to strengthen the education system through the preparation of teachers and researchers. Contribute to the training of human talent in the education system for the construction of an equitable and democratic society by generating educational models of excellence characterised by scientific rigour, a focus on rights and interculturality.

It is a public institution of higher education, oriented towards the comprehensive training of education professionals with research and innovative skills, ethical commitment, critical and creative thinking that contribute to the transformation of the quality of education in Ecuador and the construction of relevant knowledge.
UNAE is committed to strengthening the production and management of disciplinary, interdisciplinary and/or transdisciplinary scientific knowledge, as well as intercultural knowledge, through the integration and development of postgraduate programmes and R+D+i projects that provide innovative solutions to the country’s educational problems.
Areas of knowledge
The UNAE offers undergraduate and postgraduate education, both face-to-face and online, with high quality standards, contributing to the integral development of its students through the improvement and updating in various areas of knowledge.
Undergraduate areas include basic education, initial education, intercultural bilingual education, arts and humanities, special education, experimental sciences and languages. At postgraduate level, master’s degrees and a doctorate are offered in foreign language teaching, intercultural educational practices, educational technology and innovation, youth and adult education, and arts and humanities pedagogy.
