The Universidad Nacional de Quilmes (UNQ) is a center of excellence committed to the production, teaching, and dissemination of knowledge of the highest quality. Its mission is grounded in equality and pluralism, and its functions encompass teaching, research, outreach, and cultural promotion.
Since 1989, the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes has been a leader in human capital development through teaching, research, and outreach. It pioneered online education in Latin America, overcoming geographical barriers via the Quilmes Virtual University Program and enabling students worldwide to access quality education without time or location constraints.
Educational innovation
It currently structures its academic offering around three study modes —on-campus, online and blended— which operate as complementary options and allow each student to build their own pathway.
Alongside its undergraduate and short-cycle programmes, the institution offers curricular completion pathways enabling those who already hold a technical or tertiary qualification to complete a bachelor’s degree, as well as a broad postgraduate offering spanning diplomas, specialisations, master’s degrees and doctorates.

of knowledge
The institution follows a departmental structure that groups related disciplines together and encourages interdisciplinary work. Its academic offering is organised into four academic units: the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Social Sciences, the Department of Economics and Management, and the University School of Arts.
Its fields of study include biotechnology and bioinformatics, food engineering and industrial automation engineering, naval architecture and computer science; social communication, education, history, nursing and occupational therapy; management, international trade, tourism and development economics; and digital arts, music and technology. Together these comprise over fifty undergraduate and short-cycle programmes, in addition to its postgraduate offering.
